Our project was to alter a printed piece with art supplies. I printed a black and white photo on cheap watercolor paper(the good stuff wouldn't go through my printer). I also printed the same image on a piece of beige wallpaper with a leaf design. I then hand colored the photo with colored pencil. I cut pieces from the wallpaper print and collaged them onto the piece where I thought it was appropriate, which was the wall and curtain area in the background.
This is the finished piece. I'm pretty happy with it. Adding the printed wallpaper collage was difficult because the ink never dried and I kept wiping it off every time I touched it.

Printing on Substrates Assignment Part 2
I am having the worst time with this assignment. It hasn't helped that my printer isn't doing well. I'm going to give it one last attempt tonight and hopefully it will happen. I want to try printing on hot pressed watercolor paper but am having a terrible time.

Digital Printing with a Variety of Substrates Sleeping Dora
I decided to use this photo for my second piece. I ran into trouble with my printer after the first print, however. I intend to experiment with more materials once I get the printer figured out.
I printed this on wallpaper. I chose a pattern that reminded me of a pattern that would be printed on material used for a cushion or pillow because cats like to be so cozy when they sleep. I really like what happens between the cat photo and the pattern on the wallpaper. You have to step back to really see it.

Digital Printing with a Variety of Substrates Zinnia with Bumblebee
This is the original photograph of a zinnia with a bumblebee who spent the night on the flower.
First I printed it on a wrapping paper I have that is printed with beetles. I thought it was appropriate.
It was interesting to see how transparent the photograph is. I do like the texture created by the beetles, though, and the way the pattern colors on the wrapping paper change the colors in the photo.
This was printed on the reverse side of a piece of wallpaper. It looks really washed out and I'm not happy with the placement on the paper.
I printed 2 images on wallpaper with a leaf design. I really like what happens when the ink hits the different textures in the wallpaper.

Keep It Between the Ditches
This is my Photomontage 2 assignment. I could have worked on it for hours and hours and hours more. I used 6 different images and played a lot with text. This assignment was really difficult for me as my mind doesn't work this way as an artist. But after I got an idea it was fun.
Photomontage 2
This Digital Art I class assignment has been really difficult for me. My brain just doesn't work this way. I make art for art's sake and have never really been into making political or social statements with my painting. I finally decided to use addiction, recovery, and its twisted path.

Photomontage
Okay, so today I decided to try the photomontage 1 assignment for my Digital Art class. I did not leave myself enough time. My first attempt was with a photo of my dog outside after a snowfall. I photoshopped a photo I found of a feeding cow moose. It's not fabulous. There is still grass showing from the original photo. I'm going to try again.
My second attempt....
